MOVING AROUND VENICE

Venice is built on more than 117 islands linked together by more than 400 bridges, so the only possible form of transport, aside your very useful legs, is a boat. Depending on your budget and time available, you can choose from the: VAPORETTO, that is our ‘water’ bus, slow and expensive. Slow, but do not forget that if you are on vacation, you can safely enjoy the magnificent panorama from its windows; if you are a little 'in a hurry’ use the boats as the Venetians do…only for a short journey and then away on foot. Caro (expensive), it is true, but if you buy a valid 24 or 48 hour pass, a saving is ensured. For further information see www.hellovenezia.it.

Water Taxi: fast and suggestive, this mean is the modern side of the city but we advice you asks fare before get in.

GONDOLA

If you need to cross the Grand Canal but are far from one of the few bridges that span this leg of water, you can try what was, up to a few year’s ago, the means of transport most used by the Venetians, yes… the GONDOLA. Today there are 8 ‘stazi’ or service bays that ferry people across the Grand Canal for a few cents which save you time and effort. Different however, is a tour of the city in gondola: romantic and relaxing, where you can admire the city from its original viewpoint…yes, of the water, gently cruising down the Canals to the soft sound of music in the background. Do note that there are official rates for the www.gondolavenezia.it
