Description: This hostel is situated in a quiet part of Venice. It was built in the 1500’s, and designed by Sansovino and Palladio. The beautiful church is richly decorated, and there are sculptures from the School of Lombardy and two exceptional paintings, the Madonna with the Saints by Veronesi and the Madonna with Child and Saints, by Bellini. The presents church was built on an ancient chapel which was built to commemorate the visit by Saint Mark who had come from Aquilea. It is the headquarters of the Institute of Ecumenical Theology and during the summer hosts concerts of Gregorian chants. Some of its rooms are used for the Biennale of Venice.
